Depop Fee Calculator

Calculate what Depop actually takes from a US sale — no selling fee, just 3.3% + $0.45 payment processing, with optional boosting — and your real profit after costs.

Short answer: Depop charges US sellers no selling fee; the standard charge is payment processing of 3.3% + $0.45 on the total transaction amount. On a $40 item with $5 shipping that is about $1.94 — roughly 4.3%.

US processing applies to the total including applicable taxes. Depop collects and remits marketplace sales tax; it only raises the fee base. Enter 0 to ignore.

Boosting is optional advertising. The 12% fee applies to the item price (excluding tax) and to shipping when you do not use a Depop shipping label.

Only relevant when boosting is on: with a Depop label, the 12% boosting fee applies to the item price only, not shipping.

How this calculator works

  1. Selling fee = $0 for US sellers (removed in 2024).
  2. Payment processing = 3.3% × (item price + shipping charged + sales tax) + $0.45.
  3. Boosting (only if enabled) = 12% × (item price + shipping charged), applied when a boosted listing sells through a boosted tap within 28 days.
  4. Payout = item price + shipping charged − total fees. Sales tax is remitted by Depop and is never part of your payout.
  5. Profit = payout − item cost − your actual shipping cost. Break-even solves for the lowest price where profit is not negative.

Worked example

A $40.00 item with $5.00 shipping charged (no tax, not boosted): processing is $1.94, so the payout is $43.06. After a $15.00 sourcing cost and $4.25 of real postage, profit is $23.81 — a 59.52% margin.

Depop's 2024-2026 fee shift, explained

Depop removed its 10% US selling fee in 2024, leaving payment processing as the only standard charge. That makes it one of the cheapest major resale platforms in the US — but it also means much of the fee content written before 2025 is simply wrong for US sellers.

Boosting is where costs creep back in. A 12% boost fee on an attributed sale roughly triples the total fee on that order. Because it only applies to sales made through boosted taps within 28 days, treat it as a marketing cost per attributed sale, not a platform-wide rate — and test it with the toggle above before committing.

Assumptions and what this does not include

What the calculation assumes

  • US-based seller paid through Depop Payments (via Stripe).
  • Sales tax, when a rate is entered, is calculated on the item price plus shipping. Depop collects and remits US marketplace sales tax; it is not part of your payout — it only raises the processing-fee base.
  • The boosting fee is applied only when you turn it on — it is optional advertising, never a default.
  • Fees are rounded to the nearest cent.

What is not included

  • Sellers outside the US/UK/Australia (10% selling fee + PayPal processing — a different structure).
  • Depop shipping label pricing — actual postage is an input you control.
  • Any promotional or regional variations not shown on the official US fee page.
